Letter of Testimony and Thanks: Mission in La Guaira

Caracas, Venezuela

To all our brothers and sisters in the faith, partner churches, and friends:

We greet you in the love of the Lord. We would like to share with you our experience and testimony regarding the powerful earthquake that struck Venezuela last Wednesday, June 24,2026.

First of all, our hearts are filled with deep gratitude to God because the property damage to the house where we live here in Caracas was minor. However, the reality around us is painful; very close to our home, we witnessed the total collapse of a building.

After spending the first few days in constant prayer, we felt the Lord’s call to go out and serve. We have traveled to the La Guaira area to join other brothers and sisters in the faith and provide support during this emergency. So far, we have made two visits, delivering donations of personal hygiene kits and sharing the Word of God. During these days of service, we were able to hear firsthand testimonies from survivors, who recounted how the hand of the Lord protected them in the midst of the disaster.

Stories like these are all too common throughout the La Guaira area:

A Grandmother’s Pain: She told us with deep sadness that she had lost her children, leaving her completely alone and responsible for her four grandchildren. In the midst of her immense pain, her greatest desire is to find the strength she needs to raise those children and guide them down the right path.

A Spiritual Awakening: Another person shared with us that she had an altar to the Virgin Mary that ended up completely destroyed. Upon seeing the ruins, she reflected and told us with conviction: “I realized that nothing made by human hands could save me; only God saved me, and that is why I now want to know Him better.”

Heartbreaking Words: One of the sisters on our support team, while handing out donations to the children, asked a mother where her children were. The woman’s response left us speechless and with heavy hearts: “My children are under the rubble.”

A plea for help: On another walk, we asked a man why he wanted us to pray. The man immediately broke down in tears; his only plea was to rescue his daughter and grandchildren alive, as they were trapped under the collapsed structures.

We are deeply grateful to each and every one of you who pray ceaselessly for us and who support this ministry. We earnestly ask that you continue to lift us up in your prayers:

For our spiritual and mental strength, so that we may bear the pain of others without breaking down.

For our physical health, so that we may maintain our energy in the field.

For provision, so that we may not lack our daily sustenance or the resources to continue providing help.

Your support allows us to continue serving, comforting, and bringing the hope of Christ to the streets during this very difficult time.
